Project Manager

Job Purpose:

Muddy Boots Project Office provides a centralised service for all customer product implementations, with Project Managers and Business Analysists supporting both internal and external stakeholders. The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects with success measured against time, cost and quality of delivery to the customer.  

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

=      To define the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for a project and manage development and delivery

=      To ensure that software solutions are delivered to customers within the timescales specified and to the quality expected

=     To determine the objectives and measures on which the project will be evaluated

=     To determine the resources required to complete the project and liaise with other project managers and development teams to plan and secure these

=     To support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations and communications

=     To provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the document life cycle

=      To implement effective project governance and review, monitoring and reviewing progress of projects in conjunction with key stakeholders to ensure successful completion

=      To monitor and review quality of work on a regular basis to ensure that it meets standards and requirements.

=      To conduct project presentations and compile reports, including evaluation of project outcomes.

=      To develop and mentor team members to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge and building of skills

=      To liaise with customer and internal product development teams to analyse, validate and approve requirements effectively – attending planning, refinement and retrospective sessions where required

=      To manage/support requirements through the lifecycle from inception, review, sign-off, development, testing to acceptance and benefits realisation

=      To cultivate strong relationships with customers and product teams, taking the lead, challenging ideas, thinking and managing expectations as appropriate

=      To identify and implement process efficiencies that may provide benefit to the customer and enhance our product offering to support Muddy Boots’ position as a strategic partner

=      To identify new product development opportunities through in-depth understanding gained from working with customers and their processes to help drive Muddy Boots’ product strategy

 Person Specification:

=        Degree qualified or equivalent, supported by a recognised qualification in Project Management and/or Business Analysis

=      At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role

=      Experience of working within an Agile environment

=      Ability to self-manage work load, time and priorities

=      Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

=      Proven ability in facilitating meetings, gathering requirements and process mapping

=      Able to develop business cases to appropriate level of detail to support prioritisation process – internally and on behalf of customers

=      A track record of developing and managing stakeholder relationships

=      Excellent questioning and  listening skills, with an empathetic approach and the ability to balance multiple perspectives in delivering the best result for the customer and the business

=      Able to negotiate effectively, influencing decisions and managing expectations

=      Ability to deliver to agreed objectives and timescales within a fast-paced, collaborative  environment

=      Ability to recognise and adapt appropriately to changing conditions and requirements

=      Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis within the UK and overseas
