Scrum Master

What are we looking for?

An Agile champion who can support the Product Owner and the Development Team by coaching the Team to become well-motivated, high-performing and self-organising.  Facilitating an increased understanding of agile philosophy and best practice across the organisation you will also have a pivotal role in the leadership of our Bristol office.

What does the role involve?

=         To act as the primary point of contact for Development Team members

=         To support and work with the Product Owner to help define sprint goals and groom backlog

=         To facilitate all elements of the scrum in order to ensure efficient and effective delivery of sprint content

=         To coach and support team members to develop skills, collaborate effectively, share knowledge and become self-managing

=         To help remove impediments for teams and individuals to enable them to focus on building and delivering quality software

=         To manage external distractions effectively in order to ensure the success of a sprint

=         Promote continuous improvement through effective and ongoing sprint retrospectives with the team

=         To challenge assumptions, identify and escalate issues and concerns as appropriate, ensuring recommendations for resolution are              considered

=         To monitor resourcing levels within the team and to highlight to the organisation when the existing team levels may not have capacity to               reach desired sprint goals

=         To work closely with appropriate Technical Leads in order to develop the performance of the team and individual team members, coaching          an ‘inspect and adapt’ outlook

=         To provide feedback to the Product Owner (and wider BA team) on the quality of user stories

=         To share best practice through the Scrum Master forum, ensuring adoption within own team to deliver optimum performance

=         Follow the company’s safety policies and procedures at all times and take all necessary actions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of          yourself, your colleagues and third parties.

=         Any other reasonable duties which you may be requested to perform from time to time by your Operational Lead.

What do you need in order to qualify?

=         A track record of success working in an Agile environment, and able to demonstrate a deep understanding of Agile

=         Excellent leadership skills

=         Experience of Scrum Mastering in Agile development

=         The ability to collaborate successfully with developers, testers, architects and business representatives alike

=         You are effective at adapting methodologies to ensure efficiency and best fit with business drivers

=         A good understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and use of metrics

=         Experience of  working to deadlines within a fast paced industry

=         Good written and oral communication skills

=         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly develop relationships of trust

=         A track record of demonstrating facilitation, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and servant leadership skills
